Re: Things
Judging from the images, it's looking like a High Steam might be the best way to go.

Mostly seems like the high steam description, but regardless of what it is this should be pretty fun.
Where will we start off in though? The front lines..?

I'm thinking Nazi occupied France would be a good one. Working with La Resistance.

Re: Things
Oh yes
Maybe a crew is set up to hijack like, some sort of Flying juggernaut?
Could be a normal one, but we could be like... cheesy and dramatic by making it some experimental one.

Re: Things
If we want to throw in the idea of steam-powered mechas (which I personally have a soft spot for,) possibly hijacking one of those as well?

Re: Things
Steampunk Mecha look nice fairly often so yes plz.
Hijacking experimental airship would be a fairly decent idea, it opens a lot for the plot and in the end would possibly be a major target for us to turn the tide of war?

:U Btk don't be so picky. It's just for flavor so we have a rough idea of the setting.

Re: Things
Just making a poor jab at cleverness on the fact that it was a rather random image.
The discussion was on airships and what the plot point would be, not helped by the caption of "So it would look something a bit like this? ", by base logics, I'd presume he was speaking of the plot point of an experimental airship and/or mecha.
Which the image was lacking and I was pointing out.
But I digress, it was a jape ;u;
Intent was of small harm that would be outweighed by amusement.
I was thinking about saying Steam-Mechas but I felt like I might've been pushing it; maybe there's an experimental host or singular device of mechas aboard the Airship, or maybe one in research.
Also, to what extents are we allowing tech? And will there be more to the fiction than steam-punk? [ie; magic, dorfs, orcs, etc. for examples]

Re: Things
That's a definite point to consider. We need to know what kinds of technology we will have in the world - What's normal? What's new? What's old? These questions need to be answered at least somewhat in order to know how one would react to seeing something like say, a tesla cannon. Are mecha commonplace? Prototypes or whatever stage of experimental tech?
Personally I'd want to have mecha about...they're fun things to play with. Air battleships of one sort or another seem to be something that'll be around. What else?

Re: Things
why does France always have to be occupied ;-;
perhaps the Nazis failed in their Ardennes offensive and pulled back, turning the war into a long slog to-and-fro from the Maginot line and other places, eventually R&D went into overdrive and you get airships designed for bombing the entire place
then you have a war with a flagging but still capable French presence and British assistance as both sides utilize the most advanced technology they can possibly hope to muster
the protagonists would be partisan fighters in some area of France that is controlled by the Nazis, with possibly the objective of disrupting airship raids in the area, sabotage the fresh Kampfgruppes deployed and their newly-designed Nazi mechs
or we could go to Poland 'cause everyone does France anyway and Poland's resistance had armored cars and gave no shits

It was just a suggestion. Besides, I like the idea of La Resistance, because it shows the French weren't pussies, just their leaders.Wehrmacht Cat wrote:why does France always have to be occupied ;-;

Re: Things
Ok so it would seem I need to lay down the tech and such and what's what. I am certainly open though to changes.
All forms of Steampunk tech are going to be in this RP. So we have mechs, Tesla weapons, airships, great big whopping things like this.

Giant things like this as well.
Of course there will be experimental things as well.

FALSE!

But anyways, I like the general concepts being brought forth. I really think that massive airship battles would just be awesome.
Re: Things
ROLLING FORTRESSES. BECAUSE WE NEEDED MORE DAKKA ON THE FIELD.
Alright, so technology is virtually all major things of steampunk with a ~WWII inspiration and feel to it as far as I understand this. If there's any further elaboration we can do, it'd be wise to state it before we're rolling otherwise we may have some confusion to deal with after the start. Real world WWII weaponry would probably still exist too, at least some of them.
Once we've got the idea of tech, what we are in relation to the war comes next...everyone being in separate branches of military might not be the best idea depending on what we're doing in this.
also french must be pussies, surrender monkeys are surrender monkeys

well, if you want it that way it would shift more into WWI setting than WWII setting, since WWII was never really glorified as an honorable deed, just necessary and patriotic

Combine both and you get WW3 :p which we could do I suppose. So we have a ultra mega combo of stoof. Also the 2nd pic is kind of what some battlefields would look like.
