Art Cluster

Post by Bloodtrailkiller on Sun 11 May 2014, 3:06 pm

A drawing of High Queen, Hlokk. Drew it in my offtime during school hours...

Medieval-ified Loki Warframe :I
Because... why not...

Our trusty Sun Crusader, Onnet Bahn on a sunday stroll through the woods.

That's it for now, tell me if you'd rather I stick to one post to concentrate my art, or just make another thread. Knowing how things are, I'll have to make the descision myself >_>

A remake of an old picture, three years, I think. Basically going through all my old images on DevArt and remaking them.

This one is one of the earliest versions of Vaddox; when I was hell'a scared to do anything out of the ordinary so I just made everything black

Dev Art Descrip.
"Early design of Vaddox, roughly sticking with the lore.

As a tall Irken, but not exactly smart or respectable in wit. A grim, tall, green thing; he was simply granted 'Black Coat' for his typical attire of a black shirt. Given special funds and the right to oversee and overtake invasions; he became a rather ruthless Black Coat Invader.  Even by Invader standards.

I removed the antennae, despite being the way of making them Irkens unique by basic idea; I prefer no antennae.... Think they look sexier..."

An OC for a '9' RP. Y'know... that movie made by Tim  Burton in 2009 with the badass voodoo dolls and scrap creatures?
Yeah, that 9.

Dev Art Descrip
"Remake. Rather happy how it came out.
First in my remakes! And yes! I finally got around to it~ So happy.
Put in Movies & TV since it's an OC based off the movie '9' by Tim Burton

Based upon a story proceeding after 9. Very early RP made by juveniles so there were plenty of plot-holes. The creatures which were "Controlled" by the Mastermind AI Robot thing simply lost guidance and began roaming about, though they still attacked the dolls on occasion; it was no where near the hunting they used to be encountering. Dolls continued to be made afterwords, to repopulate the wasteland.

178 was initially forged to hunt the various creatures that remained after the fall of the Master, he frequently was accompanied, though very few bore the luck and grit that 178 did. He'd seen comrades get torn to shreds, while he remained; using his scythe made from a razor blade and iron rod to slay the creatures with unsettling ease.

Eventually, 178 snapped; after a grievous wound, he was left for dead by his hunting party and was forced to crawl away to shelter where he fixed himself the best he could.
His fingers and teeth are razor sharp, made so intentionally by 178 to make himself more of a weapon than a person.

He hunts everything now, often toying with his prey; an easy task for the limitless skills 178 has acquired over his time of wandering. "

Any input is nice :3

WIP of Pylys, basing his armor and such off my DSII armor; planning on trying my hand at animating with it. Also, yes, I will be coloring; I just like having a different color BG 'cause y'know... rainbows.

A quick little paint I did.
I think it's kinda cool, I could see this as some sort of anti-war graffiti in feudal or spehss japan

Thoughts?
[downsized from 1024x1024 so it's not so blurry.]
Had fun making it, but anything you like or dislike I'll keep in consideration.

Finished the head, I think. Besides the eyes and some dark shading on the face.
Then I got the other 75% of the body!

Feel free to say... y'know... anything .-.

I want to say that his head is too small in proportion to everything else, but that just might be because everything the character is wearing is fucking huuuge.

I was worried someone would say the opposite.
But he is wearing quite a bit of armor; most of which is hidden beneath his fur cloak and double fur poncho.

Plus, Dark Souls as a reference.
A somber-er Warhammer with a bit more anime-vibes. And not so much war.
I've actually gotten a bit more done, should'a updated.

...and my Sai trial ran out.
Bollocks...

Added some shading and hoped to make the fur look a little... nicer.
I'm not sure how well I did. Not sure it's an improvement but eh...

I do need to look into making fur actually look FURRY.
Also, should I keep the overshadow on his face or try and rework it? I think I should spend more than ten seconds on it...

Something small I did. A speed paint listening to Arctic Monkey's 'Do I wanna Know' and The Silent Comedy's 'All Saints Day'
Took an astonishing 30 minutes of tiredness and insomnia

WIP of an Hlokk image I wanna do on a whim...
Yeah, this is kinda how it goes with my art; start one thing, get somewhere in the color/fin phases and then find a new one.

Sort of a Hlokk on alert, maybe a... Bed Intruder..?
God, I can't believe I said it. But yeah; I dunno. Just felt like doing a pic of Hlokk and then this started forming and... yeh..

There are a few things that aren't... Hlokk-ey. But, I don't think I'm going to change the face much, I like it too much. Munchkin muchness...

I realize her nose-scar looks like a slug/leech atm, but y'know... I'd just redone the nose and I was like 'FUKK, ZE NOSEZCAR; it es not thar' so I slapped a slug up there real quick.

I do need to add a few more scars, but I think I'll wait on those since they're moooostly shading. Her right hand's pinky is a bit messed up, but I'll fix it later. Axe is a bit wonky, but it should be a quick eraser stroke with a few pen swipes.

Overall; liking how it's coming out, Might even add a little writing piece with it, if I feel creative enough.

I am afraid to say that that woman's face appears more masculine than you may have intended (Or not intended at all!)

Yeah..

She's got a pretty Mitt Romney-esque jaw line.

But then again, she's Norstrosian right?

Norstrosian so yeah... Masculine face was intended...

Though, I hope the jawline isn't as protrusive as it is now, once I add shading and such.

Most of the time, Hlokk's glorious jaw line is hidden by the shadows from her hair. But, as it is now, it is only represent 66% power.

That's a lot of scars/burns/imnotsurewhattheyare.

I do prefer the lineart over it. Isn't defined enough when it's under. Also, her right hand came out looking really good.

You can have your feet, Sterster. I can have my hands <3

Thanks for the input, I was kind of crossed and I'm glad I was able to get more input outside my rather focused vision of my art.

colored some more, plastered the bed; finished(?) the other furs. Plastered ribbons on the sword; lemmie know some other colors you'd think are good.

Also did the eyes; I know it was never wholly apparent, and I've never had the chance or put the time into thinking on Hlokk as a character until now to explain that she does have black scleras due to several battles which incured eye hemorrhages.
In all honesty, it was just a small thing of mine that I thought would be interesting since it's caused by several things which include disrupting the eye and blood going to it, and it's mostly harmless and doesn't interfere with vision so its mostly an aesthetic thing.
The color isn't EXACTLY black, more of a very dark red.

Also, you'll probably notice, I enlarged the handle and such with the line-reworking. Mostly because I want to keep an air of realism and... yes, that handle is realistic in proportion to the blade itself.
It's more a balance of fantasy and realism, as a blade that thick is more set for an axe (or Guts) than a greatsword...

Another query is what metal I should use for the extras on the sword [crossguard and pommel], I was thinking iron with gold, though now I'm thinking iron and bronze or silver...
