Zombie Role-Play

Post by Vero on Sat 21 Apr 2012, 4:20 pm

Nothing to fancy. Straight up zombies, mindless flesh-eating diseased/undead beings that will stop at nothing to kill you.

Also, a few mutated and 'smart' zombie types are needed.

Not going with zombie dogs.

But I like the idea of a smarter zombie that can command zombies who they've taken under their control.

And just some zombies who can use simple items, like trash cans or something. Open doors. Etc.

Maybe the zombies are sort of dead people with mind controlling maggots or parasite?

Feral dogs would eventually run out of a viable food source! No matter what it be... So, they would eventually resort to feeding on that of dead humans, whom are probably contaminated with the virus! Thus the dogs would become infected! *Smirk*

Alright, so we've got: ( Also made some up )

Command Infected - Have the ability to inspire nearby infected and can also lead them.

Smart Infected - They have the ability of thought process, or partial thought process. They can overcome and adapt situations, and the skills they learn usually stay with them until they're skull is imploded.

Infected - People who were infected and alive during their transformation into the mad raving beasts.

Zombies - People who died after the infection got into their bloodstream. Reanimated dead, they have no sense of pain and deserve no mercy.

Every part of human history has a beginning. Even the end of it. You see, in during the Cold War, the United States, being the secretive country it is, decided to test a new "Z-Bomb", a type of biological weapon that they hoped would kill a person peacefully by entering the air and having them inhale it, infecting the entire body, and eventually, shutting it off completely in their sleep. They decided to test out the weapon in a little town in Colorado. It worked, but not how they had actually hoped it would. The people had died peacefully over a period of time, yes, but they... woke up. Their bodies looked almost the exact same, but their bodily functions weren't at all as how they used to be. They didn't stop to do anything, they didn't eat, they didn't drink, they didn't sleep. They just walked.

Then, the United States sent in the FBI to investigate, and had some of the CIA agents track down any who may have been suspicious to what they were doing. When they FBI got there, they had attempted to simply kill the people by shooting them multiple times. They felt no pain, however. They walked on. Crawled. Until the poor FBI agents were surrounded and soon... killed. Like the previous citizens however, they woke up. Same as before.

The President at that time had heard of this... development and sent a part of the Army to keep the... creatures, now dubbed "Zombies" safe. They did so, but the year is 2021. They broke out. They're after you. They are a horde of unstoppable, numbers too large creatures. Intent on making you one of them.

Brawler - Incredibly strong infected/zombies that have their muscle mass increased by 35%. It's almost like getting hit by a train. Almost.

Wailer - Wails on the site of survivors, attracting all zombies around in a 1-3 miles radius depending on the habitat it's screaming in.

Irriadiated Zombie - Smart and below. None such of a command.

Simply put, an irradiated zombie. When nuclear power plants starting failing, radiation kind of went everywhere. Though not too common, one or two of these can be seen by nuclear power plants, or near, within a few miles. They glow green in some spots, and they puke. A lot. Like every minute. The radiation introduced accelerated cell growth in the stomach's acid. Thus, it's puke may be acidic, but easily taken care of with water. Getting too close can induce radiation poisoning. There is nothing special about them besides glowing green in some places, and puking a lot.

Holdout forts are a must.

As in, areas where survivors have banded together and defend.

Most are in obscure locations, such as the countryside. Usually they are ramshackle scaffolding and canvas shelters around a main building, and defended with a fence or wall. These holdout forts can contain from anywhere to 5 to 20 survivors on average, mostly lightly armed and relying on traps more than firepower. Almost all forts have traps around it, from frag mines to pitfalls.

Holdout positions are rare. More common are roving bands of survivors, also lightly armed.

Bandits and looters are also around. They are basically survivors, but hostile and will try to take your stuff by force.

The military won't be much and will probably be isolated. You're not likely to see them.

Mercenaries can be hired in exchange for supplies, mostly because there are still people willing to make a profit, no matter the crisis. Mercenaries are generally slightly better off in terms of weaponry and training.

Reclaimed towns are towns that have been fully cleansed of the zombies and barely repopulated with survivors. So far, there are none.

Ideas. Take them.

Eh, Oslo, kind of late, but I'll still take them into consideration.

They're good ideas, I might add them to the plot.

Don't know where to put it, so I put some low-quality posing of "concept" survivors, so to speak.

At any rate, most survivors are merely territorial and don't like it if you trespass on their "territory". That is, where they live.

The ones that wander a lot generally are better-equipped, but also more likely to be hostile as they don't want to take chances or they want to take your stuff.

Holdout forts are generally in high-up locations where the zombies can't get to them too easily. As such, the top of buildings and attics are popular choices, though it's not uncommon to find a group of survivors fortifying and inhabiting an entire apartment complex or other building. These forts are easily recognizable because most contain ramshackle fortifications of sheet metal, wire, and wood. Streets leading to a fort may be blocked off in a similar way.
