Militaristic Skyrim Role-Play

Post by Vero on Sun 08 Jan 2012, 2:44 am

Recently, those of us playing Skyrim have found the chatbox as a way for us to Role-Play Skyrim in the militaristic sense.

So far this is the time period:
The Stormcloaks have prevailed in the Civil War.
Imperials who were either trapped or sent behind enemy lines come under constant attack from Forsworn, Bandits, or Stormcloak soldiers.
And recently, Imperial forces are gathering to make a rebellion within Skyrim herself against the Stormcloaks.

Any ideas to add?

I like the way this rp is shaping up. So how exactly will this play out. Will our characters just be soldiers or commanders, or both? Also, are all the dragons dead?

They can or will be both. But, you don't have to be on either side. You can be neutral and get sucked into this.

Are the dragons still a threat, or are they all dead?

They are still at large, with Alduis running around to ancient dragon burial sites and reawakening dragons and Dragon Priests.

Well, first we have to develop the plot explaining the situation, then a character sheet.

Hmmm
Despite the victory of the Stormcloak freedom army, Imperial Legion troops and commander's remain in enemy land, being forced to survive under ever worse odd's. Their lives are being barely sustained by kind folk and luck, they eagerly try to make their way over the border as they attempt to survive in a land they once felt at home with...

Using my adept console skills, I could simulate various battles between Forsworn, Stormcloaks, and Imperials.

Soldiers come in several varieties:

Soldier: A soldier. Obviously. Armed with melee weapon and bow.

Archer: A soldier without a good melee weapon, but they are slightly better with a bow.

Field Commander/Field Legate: A better armed and armored officer that is often seen on the field.

General/Legate: The best of the best, they are excellent fighters and won't go down too easily.

Mage/Wizard: Considering their reputation in Skyrim, there aren't many in employ by the Stormcloaks as the Imperial Legion, but there are more signing up. They frequently use healing and defensive spells, but also come with a devastating Ice Spike/Firebolt spell.

This works, Legate.

I agree with Sylay, maybe in Windhelm there was a Dunmer rebellion that was either put down, or the Dunmer simply escaped the city burning the Gray Quarter and some other parts.

They set up camp in some cave, and do some occasional hit and run attacks from this small cave? And, since they're Dunmer... they use Atronachs as guards for the cave, maybe?
