Not quite off the point of you stealing a bit, but I'm go for a little Lunar RPing.

Perhaps Earth's power supplies dwindle, and as a last ditch effort to provide power, and materials to construct ships and space shuttles, a lunar mining colony is established on... Apollo 19. (Coincedence? Lol. That's a joke it'll really the be the Apaloosa Mining Colony.)

During their time mining they uncover a cave which dates back to when the moon HAD a survivalable atmosphere. Now, it is a dust rock with little atmosphere to breath. Thus power suits are issued to mines, and air masks are issued to civillians. Any militaristic get a power suit (Similar in design to the ST2 Marine suit, but much more compact) And law enforcement get a moderately armored suit that protects the chest, abdomen, shoulders, shins, and feet.

However, in this cave the miners find a cocoon. They take it topside to a hospital where scientists from Earth and Apaloosa disect it. Inthe process however, the unleash a deadly spore that infects 95% of the colony (Approx. 2500 people live on Apaloosa...).

A week after the initial disection, people begin expeirencing EXTREME cases of 'food poisoning'. They begin after a week and one day to cough their blood up, piss it out, or shit it out in direct streams. Perhaps after the blood is gone the organs begin to mutate into a very sickly form. Some growing out onto the extrerior of the body.

After 2 weeks, the corpses dig out of their mass graves and attack the remaining roughly 300 colonists. Law enforecement is rare, as a test is issued to all praticipants. Only 50 people are members of law enforcement, and a good fair bit are infected.

After a month, the colony goes dark. Nothing goes out, or in.

After a month and 1 week, an expeditionary force is sent to deal with it. They instead find the hordes of grosly mutated colonists and miners.

I have a solution for this, but we'll elaborate more on this before I talk about it. ;)

They're system revolves around a hive mind system.
